Today I got this email telling a storybook about a boy who used to live with his grandma during the war time near Hiroshima in Japan. He had to be separated with his mom and he therefore wanted to see his mom so badly even though his grandma was so poor that couldn't even able to feed him well. But also because of this, his grandma had also taught him lots of things and different aspects of outlooks in life. His life is forever changed. And this man, 島田洋七(Shimada Youshichi) became a famous Japanese comedian artist and later became a famous speaker due to his book.
The book 『佐賀のがばいばあちゃん』(My Grandma from Saga) became a best seller and is sold more than half a million copies. It has inspired numerous Japanese people who wasn't aware of the precious lessons about life until they read Shimada's book. It's truly inspiring and I just wanna share with everyone.
The official homepage(公式HP) is here as well as his info on
Wikipedia. Have a look for yourself! Maybe you will get inspired too!
